The Share the Love event was held at the end of 2019 when the dealership invited each Subaru buyer to designate a portion of their purchase price to benefit either a national nonprofit organization or Peacock Subaru’s hometown charity.

“It’s truly a testament to our community’s belief in the vital mission of Volunteers in Medicine that our dealership continually selects these heroes to be our hometown charity and that our customers keep choosing to give back locally—and even more so this year when the need is much greater,” said Ken Kirby, general manager of Peacock Subaru.Through the dedicated service of approximately 75 volunteer physicians, nurses and allied health professionals, BJVIM provides free medical care to the residents of Bluffton and Jasper County who are uninsured.”We have outstanding nurses and physicians who donate their time and expertise to our community, but it’s imperative that we have financial assistance in order to make a difference,” said Dennis Toney, development director of BJVIM. “We rely on donations like these and the support from Peacock Subaru could not have come at a better time.”

Nationally, the Share the Love event has enabled Subaru of America and its participating retailers to donate more than $176 million to charity over the last 12 years. Customers have the option of choosing between four national and one of over 1,220 dealership-specific hometown charities. Pinnacle Medical Group Opens Office as Emergency Relief Center for Laceration Repair and Minor Skin Injuries

(BEAUFORT/BLUFFTON/HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC) Pinnacle Medical Group, the locally owned and operated parent company of Pinnacle Plastic Surgery, PURE Medical Spa and Beaufort Dermatology, has reached out to Beaufort Memorial, Hilton Head and Coastal Carolina Hospitals and offered to relieve their emergency departments by accepting laceration repair and minor skin injury patients directly in the Bluffton office, located at 7 Mallet Way, and in the Beaufort office, located at 1096 Ribaut Road.

“Our hope is to divert patients from the emergency room to our office in an effort to save the hospital beds, emergency personnel, and supplies available for potential COVID-19 patients,” said Dr. Audrey Klenke, plastic surgeon and principal of Pinnacle Medical Group

If the patient has a minor or complex laceration, whether it would normally require a consultant to be called or not, the patient is offered to be seen in the office for evaluation and repair saving them time and the potential exposure to COVID-19.

Patients will be given Pinnacle Medical Group’s contact information and instructed to ensure contact has been made and a plan in place before leaving hospital. The ER provider can communicate details directly with the Pinnacle team, which reduces any confusion. Patients who need simple suture removal and other minor procedures appropriate for a plastic surgery office can also be diverted.

The hours of operation for these procedures fall under the practice’s temporarily modified office hours of 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday for the Bluffton office and 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday / 8:00 a.m. – 12 p.m. Friday for the Beaufort office. After-hours services may become available depending on the demand for appointments.

Pinnacle Medical Group Launches Telehealth Services for Patients

(BEAUFORT/BLUFFTON/HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC) Pinnacle Medical Group, the locally owned and operated parent company of Pinnacle Plastic Surgery, PURE Medical Spa and Beaufort Dermatology, will now offer telehealth appointments utilizing FaceTime and GoToMeeting for virtual visits.

In the coming weeks, the practice’s electronic medical record provider will launch a downloadable telehealth application, which will integrate directly into the Pinnacle Medical Group’s operating system.

“As we are facing so many uncertainties in the midst of the coronavirus, it is so important to provide more access and options for high-quality care for our patients and community,” said Dr. Audrey Klenke, plastic surgeon and principal of Pinnacle Medical Group

Pinnacle Medical Group will utilize telehealth options for consultations and follow-up appointments for the following visit types including but not limited to:

  • Dermatological Services:
    • Viral skin lesions
    • Acne
    • Skin cancer follow-up
    • Pigmented lesions
    • Biopsy follow-up
    • Disease management

    • Pre-operative appointments for procedures and surgeries
    • Follow-up visits

    • Follow-up visits

Since no one is certain of how long this pandemic is going to last, Pinnacle Medical Group will continue to offer in-office appointments in addition to the telehealth options. Dr. Klenke said, “Telehealth appointments will help to reduce exposure to COVID-19 and to minimize surges in care facilities. However, it is important to stress that we will recommend an office visit if there is a more serious issue or need for surgery, such as a patient that has skin cancer that needs to be excised.”

The new telehealth appointments will be available between the practice’s temporarily modified office hours of 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Anyone interested in telehealth is asked to call the office and a patient concierge will be able to assist with the appointment. A phone or computer with a microphone and camera is required. Specific instructions will be sent after the appointment is scheduled. For more information, please call (843) 815-6699

Enmarket Introduces New Rewards and Payment Program

Enmarket Introduces New Rewards and Payment Program

(SAVANNAH, GA) The growing Savannah-based Enmarket convenience store chain continues to embrace cutting-edge technology as it rolls out a new customer rewards program called Enjoy Rewards.

Enmarket’s Enjoy Rewards will enable customers to earn fuel discounts by buying gas or diesel fuel as well as food and other merchandise inside the store. Those discounts can amount to as much as $2 off per gallon on fuel purchases.

“This rewards program provides significant savings for our customers and also maximizes convenience,” said Brett Giesick, president of Enmarket, the 49th largest convenience store chain in the country. “Participants will be able to earn and redeem rewards at any of our 125 stores.”

Other features of the program include a coffee club, frozen beverage club and roller grill club, each of which awards a customer a free item after six purchases, plus a free annual birthday reward.

Enjoy Rewards also offers registration rewards such as a one-time 10-cents-a-gallon discount and five free fountain drinks or coffees. Customers may pick up a card at any Enmarket location and can register the card online or on the Enmarket Enjoy Rewards mobile app to start redeeming their fuel discounts. From there, Enmarket customers have the option to either use the physical card or enter their phone number at checkout to access their accounts and rewards.

In addition to providing access to the rewards program, the card can be activated as a method of payment, called enPay. When customers pay for their fuel with enPay, they earn 10 cents off each gallon purchased in that transaction. The enPay card allows customers to make transactions using a secure PIN after linking the card directly to their checking account.

The software that powers the rewards program was developed by Paytronix, while the payment platform is delivered by Zipline.

“We strategically chose two leaders in their respective fields as our partners for this initiative,” continued Giesick. “Paytronix is the industry leader in its category and has the most experience of any company on the market—they truly understand how to use their deep intelligence to drive individual action. In fact, both companies have proven that they understand how to incentivize customers in a meaningful way through offers that are relevant to each individual. We’re building an ecosystem that allows for future integrations that will be seamless to our customers and make the Enmarket shopping experience second to none in the industry.”

This rewards program signals Enmarket’s commitment to its reputation as a technology-driven company designed to make customer experiences faster and more convenient. Last year, the chain became one of the first convenience store chains in the U.S. to introduce new mobile payment technology in the form of a self-checkout service that allows customer to skip register lines and pay for purchases instantly via Enmarket’s smartphone app.

Girls’ Roller Derby Team Named Recipients of Canfield Mouthshield Program

Standard

(SAVANNAH, GA) The Canfield Mouthshield Program, funded and administered by local dentist Angela Canfield of Sandfly Family Dental in Savannah and Premier Dental Designs in Rincon, selected the Savannah Junior DerbyTaunts to receive this year’s custom athletic mouth guards.

“The DerbyTaunts focus on teaching girls the value of team sports and encouraging physical activity for its health benefits,” said Canfield. “By making sure they can protect their teeth while engaging in a vigorous sport, we want to ensure they protect their smiles and dental health without sacrificing athleticism.”

The young roller derby players joined a growing list of local sports teams that have benefited from the Canfield Mouthshield Program that began in 2014 and provides custom mouth guards, even in team colors, for all members of a team. Previous recipients include Benedictine Military School, Groves High School, Hancock Day School, Bethesda Academy, Jenkins High School and Savannah Christian Preparatory School.

The DerbyTaunts, a 28-member roller derby team for girls ages 8 to 18, began to come together in 2011 and played their first competitions in 2013.

Custom-made mouth guards provide stability to the players’ jaws and cushion blows that can cause injuries such as broken teeth, fractured jaws, gum lacerations and injuries to a person’s lips or tongue. According to the American Dental Association, an effective mouth guard should be comfortable, resistant to tearing and resilient.

A mouth guard must fit properly, be durable, easily cleaned and not restrict speech or breathing. The devices furnished by the Canfield Mouthshield Program are valued at $85 each and come with a one-year warranty that covers any dental expenses incurred by players while wearing the mouth guards. The warranty pays $1,093.75 per injured or replaced tooth up to a maximum of $35,000 per incident. Since the program started, Canfield has donated almost $100,000 worth of protective gear to local student-athletes.

Some experts – including Canfield – recommend mouth guards be worn by athletes in competitive and recreational sports where contact and collisions are likely. The American Dental Association recommends wearing custom mouth guards during both competition and practice for the following sports: acrobats, basketball, boxing, field hockey, football, gymnastics, handball, ice hockey, lacrosse, martial arts, racquetball, roller hockey, rugby, shot putting, skateboarding, skiing, skydiving, soccer, squash, surfing, volleyball, water polo, weightlifting and wrestling. Some include baseball and softball infielders on that list.
